Growth is both an inward journey and an outward exchange. Flourish: Nature Versus Nurture is an immersive exhibition that explores the deep connections between self-care, community care, and the nurturing of the natural world. Through the work of two artists, this collection envisions people and plants not as separate entities but as co-nurturers in a shared ecosystem of healing and growth. It asks us to consider the ways in which we cultivate and sustain life—within ourselves, within our relationships, and within the spaces we call home.
Aura Lewis’s work captures the act of nurturing—of oneself and of others—through intimate and tender portraits that highlight moments of care, reflection, and connection. Her paintings explore the rituals of self-preservation, the quiet strength found in tending to personal well-being, and the ways in which kindness and support create flourishing communities. Each brushstroke tells a story of resilience, reminding us that self-care is not an indulgence but a necessity, and that when we care for ourselves, we are better equipped to care for others.
Chloe McEldowney’s work turns her gaze toward houseplants, depicting them as living, breathing reminders of the power of
attention and care. These paintings highlight the subtle yet profound
relationship between people and the greenery they bring into our homes—plants that require patience, nourishment, and time to thrive. Through lush compositions and intricate details, these works celebrate houseplants as more than decor; they are symbols of resilience, growth, and the reciprocal nature of care. Just as a plant responds to light, water, and love, so too do we flourish when given what we need.

Together, these two bodies of work create a dialogue between human and plant, between nurturing the self and nurturing the world around us. In a time when both personal and environmental healing are urgent, Flourish offers a vision of mutual sustenance—where care is not a finite resource but a continuous cycle, flowing between people and nature, outward and inward, shaping the well-being of all.
And with this collection, we are encouraged to start at home. Whether it is the care we extend to ourselves, to our loved ones, or to the plants that share our living spaces, every small act of nurture contributes to a larger culture of healing and growth. Through this exhibition, viewers are invited to reflect on their own role in this cycle—because to nourish the world is to nourish ourselves, and in that balance, we all thrive.
